Unity Supermarket Limited (USL) is a gift to the Churches in PNG-by-PNG Christian Professionals Network Inc (CPN). It is a realization of a long-standing dream since its inception back in 2013 to find a way to unite the Churches and empower them with resources that would enable them to continue the work of preaching the Gospel and saving lost souls for Jesus Christ before His return.
In 2018, CPN leadership embarked on a mission to set up a shopping mall for the Christians and general citizens of this nation under the name, The People’s Mall. It would be a shopping mall where the whole nation will come together through the churches around the country to own and operate. It would be a symbol of the peoples Unity and power of the Churches synergy. It is a monumental Project that only God could help us realize.
The recent turn of events has given momentum and support to this ambitious goal. The Prime Minister of PNG announced his vision as “To make PNG the richest black Christian Nation” and coined the slogan, Take Back PNG. We also witnessed our citizens in the city boycotting RH run fuel service stations, namely the 5-Mile service station. It isn’t stopping there. There are many citizens going further in boycotting shopping at Vision City and calling for other citizens to do the same. It seems the citizens of this nation has had enough of every major business being owned by foreign organizations. We need an alternative shopping mall, so USL is that alternative.
The COVID19 pandemic is also creating havoc around the world, and we are feeling its impact in this country already. As a result, there is a need to modernize and readjust our way of life and business. During the lockdown periods, CPN has found a way to deliver food to its members and network of friend’s door-to-door at no extra costs than the cost of purchase at any supermarkets. This experience gives us the basis to believe that soon, demand for online and door-to-door delivery of groceries will increase. Hence, USL’s arrival into the supermarket and retail industry is both timely and strategic.
On this note, I shall invite you to take a tour of our short profile.
Sincerely,
Eric Haiara – Chairman Unity Supermarket Limited
